Oh well, hello there or should I say…Servus, grüß Gott!! (oh my god, I did not really say that…laughs)
So…One month no read…I don’t know what to say really other than “where have my head been lately?”
I don’t know to be honest and also there was just so much going on that I wasn’t focussed on the things that I wanted to be focussed on but after this little (but kind of long) break I’m really figuring stuff out and feeling inspired again which is a lovely thing, right?
So today in honor of The Octoberfest which actually ended yesterday lols I wanted to show you three outfits that are inspired of the traditional gear that people wear in the South of Germany on a day to day basis……just kidding (but not really) smirks
But honestly, I never thought that I would find you much fun in dressing “traditionally german”. Still, I find it a bit weird when I see people for example at the Octoberfest being dressed in like “Lederhosen and Dirndl” but I love to challenge myself and take a piece or even an outfit and make it my own. I don’t like this kind of “costume vibe” where people put these traditional pieces together and look literally disguised.
And I don’t mean that one can’t wear it - you know my philosophy: Everyone can wear whatever they want - Just make it your own… winks
So enough of that, now I want to show the outfits:
…Cause I had so much fun shooting them!
Outfit Number One: Complementary Temptation
I love styling complementary colours because its bold but at the same very harmoniously. I saw this “janker” (cardigan/jumper) in a charity shop and absolutely fell in love with a the colour, b the flower details and c the fact that it doesn’t really fit me because its way too big but I love that. I paired it with my lederhosen (oh god still can’t take myself seriously when I say it out loud..laughs) and a lacy bra to add a lil feminity in all that oversizeness.
Outfit Number Two: My heart will go on
…smiling…
Not only do I find this title quite funny, but also I really can’t believe that I’m saying this but from all the three fits (the third is a good one too winkwink) I think this is my fave and funny enough its the most traditional out of the three…
I just love the cosiness that this “janker” offers and also the fact that I bought it back in june when I was in Mayrhofen, Switzerland in a little shop where everything was handmade and so beautiful to look at.
And again oversize is the way to go - I really liked the way how the mansshirt was worn with the cardigan and pairing it with the jeans shorts and wooly socks made the look complete.
Outfit Number Three: Red Light
Last but definitely not least me in all black with a red light in there…Oh I love this one.
It’s for sure the one out of the three where I’ve decided to make it the most “wearable” and what I mean by that is that you can’t really tell by the first look that it is traditional inspired and I absolutely adore that. Because I love taking whether its a classic piece or a vintage piece organ in this case a traditional piece(s) (if you couldn’t already tell, it’s the jacket and the blouse underneath winks) and make it look first of all my own and second of all modern.
So in conclusion I just wanna say…September wasn’t really my month and the downs were a bit more permanent than the ups but I’m really looking forward to October and in general the lovely autumn season. I already have some nice ideas and finally can’t wait to take some time to edit my lil project I did in the end of august which I’m sooo excited about to finally share with you.
But for now - Octoba Fiesta everyone, lets enjoy this lovely season.
xxx
(All the outfits are styled with whether old pieces or things that I bought from charity shops or in cute little shops where they literally make only one piece at the time)
