Body.

So today we’re talking body…language…yeah… smiles…

First of all I have to admit that I’m absolutely in love with how the pictures came out cause when you have an actual picture in your mind of something you want to create, the perfectionism can most of the times be in your way and in the end you’re disappointed cause most of the times that picture in your mind will only exist in your mind (especially when you shoot on film…Jesus mother of Mary laughs…)

Anyways, this blog post is called “Body” and I love it cause I love puns and the fact that I want to talk about bodies wearing a body makes me giggle every time thinking about it..

Why do I wanna talk about this?

A: The constant comparison of our physical appearance is pretty much at its peak at the moment.  

B: Women are still to this day treated like objects…when they’re “attractive” - “in the eyes of society” 

C: Question for B: What is attractive? 

D: Nudity…interesting topic…so taboo but at the same time so desirable.

Sex sells.

Okay…this actually is ridiculous cause I don’t understand it and it’s a fact that I don’t really have one but for some reason my most liked picture on instagram is one where you see my “bum” in a pair in Levi’s………..and every now and then, when I post a classic holiday bikini pic, it instantly gets much more attention then any of my other pictures. 

I think the answer for this is still: Sex sells. 

Something that on one hand bothers and on the other hand fascinates me. 

Why?

Well, it bothers me cause I love clothes laughs and I find it very frustrating when you put all your creativity into something but it doesn’t really get the attention that you have wished for and then you do let’s say something a bit more “revealing” and it might get surprisingly a lot of attention and then you ask yourself (Well, me at least laughs) Why? ...again.

It fascinates me cause of its simplicity. We all have a body obviously and human love to look at other bodies. (I’m constantly blushing writing these lines but at the same time enjoying it cause it’s a pure topic and literally human.) 

Body Image.

This really goes hand in hand with Self-Love. Bodies are beautiful in my opinion. No matter how they look or not look, they’re beautiful. I see them like an art piece, cause yes we all have a body but we all have different ones. That’s the beauty of individuality and we should embrace that or better still, we should celebrate that! 

Acceptance is the first step for a more positive mind set. I know, it’s hard sometimes and I’m also still on my learning path with it but you have to remember this: 

Just BE YOURSELF because everyone else is already taken!

And to be honest everyone else is boring smiles you should be proud of YOUR beautiful masterpiece called body and sorry (but not really) all these fucking “perfect” body images you see nowadays in the media and in magazines are not real cause perfection in my opinion is imperfection and it truly is a decision that depends on you: 

Are you perfect?

The answer is…YES you are.

Oh dear god…this is a topic these days that makes me really angry and when I say angry I mean it! (Full stop. – just to make it clear.) 

From a feminist perspective, we have the freedom to wear whatever WE WANT as a woman. So if we wanna be a bit more sexy on one day, I don’t wanna hear anything. If we don’t wanna wear a bra and it could be that the nipples flash through, I don’t wanna hear anything. 

…Cleavage…I DON’T WANNA HEAR ANYTHING!

Basically you should really think twice what you say to a woman cause we aren’t objects! We are beautiful, I know smirks but we are humans and humans must respect each other! 

We should be allowed to wear or not wear whatever we feel comfortable in whether you like to be a lil nuder than others or be completely covered – it is your own decision and no one else’s business!

So lets feel free, enjoy life and start getting those beautiful bodies moving…

From Northbound to Southbound.

Half Half.

Hello my name is Izzy and I’m mixed-race. I was born and raised in Germany but my mum is Brazilian and Portuguese was the first language I learned as a child. I actually first learned German in Kindergarten. 

And this is where everything started feeling different for me. I was always unlike them. I didn’t talk like them. I didn’t like the food they liked (not at all I actually to this day can’t stand German food laughs) and I obviously didn’t look like them. 

I felt and still feel to be honest like a stranger in my own country…when I was younger my biggest desire was to have darker hair, dark eyes and tanned skin. Why?

Because all the women that I admired including my mum and sister, were much “darker” than me. As much as I felt like a stranger in Germany, I totally felt the same in Brazil. To be exact I felt German in Brazil and Brazilian in Germany.

I’m a very calm person but there are a few topics that make me go furious and if you want to provoke me, just ask me why my sister is “so dark” and I’m “so pale”. Jheeze, just writing it down makes me go arrrrgh laughs

Brazil is a VERY diverse country with a lot of influence from everywhere really. So as a result I have everything in my family starting from alabaster 'til milk chocolate smirks - so can you please shut your mouth and get educated about diversity in certain countries on our world because that’s how it is nowadays!

You probably asking yourself now…why the hell is she telling us all that? Well, my simple answer is Football World Cup 2018. My most asked question in this time: On whose side are you?

My answer…I’m for both because I’m Half Half.

One of the worst days in my life so far was four years ago…that horrifying match between Brazil and Germany playing in Brazil…2:7…no comment…

I hated Germany for doing that to Brazil and I hated Brazil for not doing better.

In the end I was very proud and happy for Germany winning the World Cup but that made me realize one thing – I don’t have to choose.

I’m both and one thing that I already knew when I was nine years old, was that in my future I don’t want to decide on whether I’m more the one or the other because I’m fuck yes both of them and I want to express that somewhere where I could start totally new as Izzy…the girl with German and Brazilian roots…so can you guess where that is? ...*Smiles*

I think that’s something only mixed-race people can understand…it’s a curse and a blessing all at once but nowadays I see it definitely more as a blessing because that is what makes me unique, that is what makes me look different to others and that is what truly made me be a cosmopolitan person.

MAKE-UP: KIKO MILANO

Mask off.

So today I thought to celebrate my 10th post, we should take the mask off and get a bit more personal. And if you didn't already noticed my fave colour is red - and yes I have smeared lipstick all over my face...honestly that was great fun.  

I've been doing this for 2 and half months now and I love it so far. The combination of writing and photography – in particular film photography is just fantastic. I’ve never felt that creative in my live so far.

To say it in short words…I’m happy. 

Starting off with an obvious one:

1. I love writing…especially poems…uh I love it so much. I wish I could talk for the rest of my life in form of poems. That would be dreamlike.

2. (This one kinda goes hand in hand with the first one) I love it when people talk like they’re from an other century…extreme polite and eloquent.

3. I love talking with my eyes and in form of gestures – on other note I HATE smalltalk. And talking on the phone…Omg hate it! laughs

4. I get very creative when I’m sad or melancholic and very motivated when I’m happy.

5. I have my best ideas when I’m out and about or on the tube cause people I see doing their daily life brings me the greatest inspiration. Why? Because it’s honest and real.

6. I love it when a guy calls his girl “beautiful” – “Hey beautiful.” (That literally gives me Goosebumps) – gentlemen fascinate me. 

7. I very easily get bored: bored of the same food, of the same style, of the same music, of the same place. Life means development and change for me. I called it the Art of Living – the living Art to try out something new and also be someone new. That is what I LOVE about fashion. I can literally be a different person every single day but at the same time it’s always me - just in a new facet.

8. My music taste is very broad… From Mozart to Skrillex everything is included. Laughs But besides that I like to do this weird thing of keeping it most of the times by myself what I’m listening to…I don’t know why I like to do that but its like my own little cosmos then, it’s a kinda “me myself dancing on the moon thing” – Well, I don’t know if that’s a thing but at least its my kinda thing…smiles

9. I love laughing…SO MUCH. But in the last two years I’ve also cried a lot. And to be honest I think that’s important for your journey of life and finding yourself on your way to experience both ends of the spectrum so I’m thankful for being fully emotional. Cause that is me.

10. I love my life – I love myself. 

By the end of the day all what really matters is the relationship that we have with ourselves. And I think that is one, if not THE one fact that is making me so happy at the moment. Cause all we need is love and especially for ourselves.

Confidence.

Saturday, last week, it was a beautiful sunny day and I was feeling different than usual. At the moment I'm listening to a lot of R’N’B and in general music that makes my soul dance. So I wanted to portrait that in my outfit. As soon as I put my outfit together I thought yes! ...and…what? at the same time *laughs* and asked myself “Well, is that really me?”

One second later I slapped myself in the face (For the most part I’m very kind to myself but sometimes you just need a “pick me up” so that’s exactly what I needed because we just think too much bullshit of ourselves…).

But on the other side I really do love this question because the answer will be always the same… Yes, it’s you.

No matter what you’re wearing or how you’re wearing it – IT IS AND IT WILL ALWAYS BE YOU.

Whether or not you want it to make it your own – that’s the next question.

Since my answer was yes I was ready to go and checking myself one last time in the mirror – I was feeling myself.

I felt fresh and somehow new and bossy… I felt confident!

Leaving the flat with some tropical tunes in my earholes, the first people (it was a couple) who came towards me starred in horror – I just smiled back at them. 

When I crossed the street, people in the car started beeping, making funny faces and even screaming out of the car window, which I didn’t pay attention to cause *with a whispering voice*

My music that I was listening to was too good.

Meeting up with my Sis and her boyfriend in the city and the first thing she said when she saw me was “What the hell is this hat doing on your head?” 

I laughed and my answer was “Its doing fashion!”

As I said in the beginning it was a beautiful day, we did a bit of shopping but also all of this made me think…why do we people care too much about other people’s looks? 

Nowadays it’s still pretty let’s say daring to just wear the hell you like or what or how you feel.

And I’m saying “still” in a sense of disappointment because we should boost our confidence instead of wasting our energy with speculations of other people’s thoughts about our outfits (AND selves!).

We should be excited about trying out something new, something unexpected and not be scared and under pressure of a “perfect” society that "knows about" the dos and don’ts.

So that’s why confidence is sooooo important!

When you are confident nothing really can beat you. Not the shocked faces, not the funny looks, no unnecessary comments you might get because they can’t vibe with your being. 

You know, let’s be honest…by the end of the day it is just clothes and we as beings with different tastes and preferences put an outfit together. So instead of mentally or physically putting your finger on a person with a different style than yours, make this finger a full hand so you can high five each other and call it a fashionable day.

Keep it simple.

What a week...!

First of all I definitely have to mention the beautiful summer breeze that FINALLY arrived us. It still doesn't feel real but every time you go outside - the sun will kiss your face...dreamy!

And thats what my Dad and I did last Sunday. My dad on the camera (that was actually real fun *laughs*) and I enjoying, getting snogged by the sun.

Looking back on these pictures really made me think...why do we sometimes find it so hard to be happy?

On Thursday I was at the About You Awards in Munich. I was invited to do so in February and have to say it was a great(!) event.

I met so many nice people, danced my feet off and all in all had a blast.

But it also made think about things like success, goals and visions and popularity...?! 

Sometimes everything gets to much I feel and my mind likes to play games with me - typical problem of an over thinker (MEEEEE). But looking back on these pictures where I was enjoying the sun, feeling my outfit and spending some quality time with my father made me realize again that we have to KEEP THINGS SIMPLE and just live in the moment WITHOUT THINKING TOO MUCH!

Life would be much easier sometimes if I could turn my mind off for a hot minute and just yeah keep it simple, u know?

But one thing I'm now doing for a good time and actually worked wonders, is meditation. It's so good to calm down, relax and just reflect thoughts and feelings in the most chilliest way possible. And also reading stuff that Oh My God makes you notice and see things that were obvious but not really but omg yes...(*smiles*) Current reading material is called "On the way to yourself - Be who you really can be"...goosebumps over here but yeah keep it simple and enjoy your journey that is called life!

If I was u, I wanna be me 2.

"I thank God everyday, that I woke up feeling this way. I can't help loving myself and I don't need nobody else. Oh no!"

Well, waking up every morning and saying this to yourself in front of a mirror may sound a bit weird...okay maybe very weird but see what will happen...

I love this song and I truly love the message that is behind it. Life is all about love, right?...Love from our family, love from our friends, love from our partners. But when someone says out loud, I love myself(!), people would laugh at that person.

Why?

Because we humans have a fucking problem. We can't see or even worse don't want to see our beauty. Most of the times we only focus on the flaws, but the funny thing is, those are what make us beautiful (oh I love this!). 

Self-confidence. The little sister of self-love (or brother you can choose it. Since I describe it from my feminine perspective, therefore she is the lil sister...who run the world...GIRLS *smiles*).

So as sisters they walk hand and hand which means one influences the other. So when you're self-confident you're loving yourself. We all want to be self-confident, don't we?  And so many people ask people that actually are self-confident how they do it? 

Well, its a training (*laughs*). Thats the way I see it! Like everything else in life, when you want to get better at something you have to start training to actually get better. Forget the funny looks, forget about the comments that you might get, basically forget anything else. Just remember one thing. YOU doing this for YOU - Because you are perfect "just the way YOU are" (Bruno you're amazing too...*smiles*).

That brings me back to the beginning: Who's that sexy thang I see over there? THATS ME, standing in the mirror.

Freaky sidenote...I have to admit, I kinda really love having my sexy face on that T (*smileysmileysmiles*)

Just go out into the world and fucking feel yourself. Why? Because its fucking YOU!

Find the colour in your life.

Well.......this week started rather unexpectedly terrible...I simply say food poisoning..."beautiful thing" (NOT) which I don't even want for my worst enemy to be honest. 

But anyways I spent a few days home at my parents house, my mum being my personal nurse which was actually very nice cause I really treasure it when people that I love care for me.

Nevertheless today's about colour. Something else that I love and as I said it in the title, today is the day where you should start looking for the colour in your life! 

Spring is finally here (thank God!!!), flowers start blooming, the trees show their first leaves, days are longer and nights are charming again.

Perfect timing to look out for some colour if ya ask me *winkwink....giggles* !

And with colour I don't just mean the colours itself - it could be anything really...What I'm trying to say is (oh man...I'm always trying *laughs*) find YOUR happiness AND especially try to find it in the smallest things cause that will make Your Life Colourful!

The weather situation is my colour, my family (and this week especially my mum/nurse) is my colour, my health is my colour, my papaya every morning is my colour, my music that I'm listening to every day is my colour (one of my faves tbh), the role of film that I shot in Munich a few weeks back is my colour and my new lil colourful puzzle of joy which I just have to look at and I'm happy *smiles*...I could go on and on but I'll leave it here and let you continue...

I'm a freak.

Hello its me...Izzy.
I don't really know where to start but yeah here I am once again.
A fresh start into the new year...even though we're already hitting April but that doesn't matter, right? Everyday is a fresh start for something beautiful. 
So I thought hence why we're officially in the beginning of summer time, I'm back at this blogging kinda thing. But this time, I wanna do it with a bit more continuity. Even though I really needed that break, I had so many things to say but I didn't really know how to say them and especially express them. 
Also I was kind of lost - I'm still totally lost but now its in a good way if you what I mean (possibly not but thats okay I usually don't understand myself either...*laughs*).

I feel like (even though I still positively lost) I found myself again. I'm more inspired than ever. I love what I love and I love to express what I love.

As cheesy as it sounds but fashion is my expression (that also rhymed...wow lol), music is my life and photography is a hidden passion of mine. 

On top of that I really like to talk or in this case write about the things that move, bother, fascinate and above all inspire me! 

So why I call myself a freak?

Well, as I said in the beginning...I wouldn't know where to start to answer that question but may I ask You a question? 
Who wants to be normal these days?
